Hedley's Trip To The Niah Caves

About thirty years ago, Hedley, with his wife and their elder daughters went on a journey trip to the Niah Caves in Sarawak which is located in East Malaysia.
Their trip began from Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei in the early morning and they drove to the border with Sarawak in three different ways first by car. After a while they stopped for lunch in Miri and then they found a river and used a large ferry to cross it so they could reach Niah. Then at evening time they rented a mini boat and sailed upriver to a government rest house which was quite comfortable and cheap, where they spent their night over there. They ate dinner with the small group of scientists who lived in the rest house and also shared some kind of cold drinks. They slept in bunk beds obviously without air conditioning.
By the next morning Hedley with his family had a walk around in the jungle for about half an hour until they found a cave which was known as Niah cave. The cave was quite dark and large and inside it they saw men who climbed up tall bamboo poles and the men were wearing hats with lights on because as I mentioned the cave was so dark. Also at the top they were scraping off birds nests which were collected by their mates.
At the end after a spending a whole day in the jungle they went back to their rest house to collect their personal goods and to say good bye to their new friends which were in the same rest house. And then they left that house and went home. The journey was  quite interesting and bit of an adventure and had great memorable moments
